You will . . .

▪ Guide the financial future of a regional transit system that connects thousands of people each day to jobs, education, healthcare, and opportunity.

▪ Oversee an annual operating budget of $39 million and a capital budget of $6 million, including federal and state funding, grants, and major projects.

▪ Lead a collaborative finance team of three professionals dedicated to accuracy, accountability, and service excellence.

▪ Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to ensure SARTA’s long-term financial sustainability, transparency, and innovation

 

Your key responsibilities will include . . .

▪ Leading a finance team of three in developing and maintaining the highest levels of professionalism, individual skills, and effective team approach to work.

▪ Planning, organizing, directing, controlling this transit agency's financial accounting activities; analyzing revenues & expenses; overseeing reconciliation of balance sheet accounts; providing financial analysis of budgets and projections; assuring adequate internal controls, accurate record keeping and timely reporting in compliance with established laws, codes, regulations and policies.

▪ Developing, analyzing, and implementing financial policies and procedures, including reserve policies to ensure long-term fiscal viability and accountability.

We are looking for . . .

▪ Experience in transit, public sector or similar complex regulated industries

▪ Ten years of progressive leadership accomplishment in public finance/accounting

▪ Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, public administration or related field

▪ CPA, CMA or MBA helpful

▪ Proven abilities to manage large budgets, grants and audits with integrity

▪ Team leader with team-building skills

▪ Exemplary communicator – writing and speaking

▪ Current sterling professional references attesting to proven track record

▪ Commitment to public service

You will receive this attractive compensation package . . .

▪ A starting annual salary range of $130K to $150K, commensurate with experience

▪ State retirement OPERS with SARTA contributing 24% of pay

▪ Holidays: 5 traditional plus SARTA anniversary, birthday, and New Year’s Day

▪ Nineteen days PTO
