Spring Hill Historic Home
Description
Spring Hill and the Community Gardens of Spring Hill are the recipients of a $1,000 MLK Day of Service grant from ServeOhio, Ohio's leading commission on service and volunteerism, to construct a garden shed!
Components of the shed construction will take place Saturday, January 14 through Monday, January 16 in honor of the national holiday. A shed raising in the garden will take place if weather permits. If you could donate three hours of your time, or even an hour, it would be a huge help! This is a great opportunity for any students seeking community service hours on their days off from school.
Volunteer schedule:
Saturday, January 14 | 10am - 1pm, 1 - 4pm
Sunday, January 15 | 1 - 4pm
Monday, January 16 | 10am - 1pm, 1 - 4pm
A representative from StarkFresh will be speaking at 2pm on 1/16 about the organization, benefits of community gardens, and food insecurity affecting Stark County.
Volunteers should wear work gloves/boots and bring tools like hammers and cordless drills to assist in the building.
