The Mid-Level Giving Manager oversees the engagement and growth of the organization’s mid-level giving donor program, with a concentrated focus on engaging mid-level donors giving $1,000 - $2,499.  This position is expected to hold a portfolio of 500 donors and will strategize and work to engage and strengthen the donor relationship.  The tiered portfolio work will result in increased donors and revenue to support the mission of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.

The Mid-Level Giving Manager will work out of both our Akron and Canton Facility (Canton Location - 1365 Cherry Ave NE, Canton, OH 44714).

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a portfolio of 500 mid-level existing and new donors; establish and build relationships through phone calls, personalized emails, event attendance, face-to-face visits, and other communications.
  2. Create and execute a tiered plan for mid-level donors that includes qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  3. Create and execute a tiered communication plan that is donor-centered, with an emphasis on proven best practices that will strengthen relationships and engage them further with the mission of the Foodbank. This can be accomplished through various forms of communication and marketing tools such as videos, video thank you, impact reports, etc.
  4. Manage the portfolio in a tiered and prioritized approach that focuses on acquisition/qualification, renewal or retention, reactivation, and upgrade strategies.  This will include prospects, donors that are volunteers, monthly donors, direct mail donors, event attendees, etc.
  5. Collaborate with the major gifts officers to develop strategies to move mid-level donors to major donors, ensuring a smooth transition.
  6. Reserve the top-most tier of the portfolio for 20 major donors.  Manage these donors in conjunction with the major gifts team to acquire experience in the major gifts program for professional development and future advancement.
  7. Collaborate with the direct mail team on digital and direct mail strategies to ensure a donor centered fundraising message that promotes engagement and growth in the mid-level and major donor program
  8. Collaborate with the individual giving team and donor services to evaluate outcomes of the mid-level giving program, analyzing results and trends to recommend changes in strategy.
  9. Monitor the strategy of the acknowledgement process of the mid-level program and collaborate with donor services to make/suggestion modifications.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in non-profit fundraising, with proven results of achieving revenue goals in a donor-centered fund development program.
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills that lead to strong and authentic relationships.
  4. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; and effective public presentation skills for all size groups.
  5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply strategic and creative thinking.
  6. Proficient in managing multiple projects and attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment.
  7. Goal oriented.
  8. Adept in working with wealth screening software and basic research to qualify donors.
  9. Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge, both database and NXT, a plus.
